Haven't you experienced the same behaviour from a cat? I think cats are also like that. Safety of the guests is one of the major reason I don't keep cats or dogs as pet.

That's a terrible experience! See why we can't put our full trust on pet dogs? They can misbehave anytime, that's why it is advised that we shouldn't leave kids alone with them.
