While the Internet has proven to be a huge help so far, there have been several cases of cyber bullying. What ways do you think can be used to reduce cyber bullying to some extent. I think some social media sites should include something like word censors, where the used of certain words would not be allowed.

For me, I think the best way to tackle cyber bullying is by providing education and enlightenment to young ones who might be a victim in one form or another on how to handle it perfectly.

The only measure that can be taken to reduce cyber bullying is just to tell anyone that wants to engage online to develop mental strength. Cyber bullying thrives because the bullies see as their victims shrivel. If the victims stop being fickle, the bully would get tired out and stop.

I agree because many times we see only those uneducated ones going for cyberbullying and a person who is educated and mature will never do this with anyone even in their mind.

So how do we help them to develop that mental strength? Just so you know, it is not something that can be developed instantly or overnight.

I think it's by creating awareness, letting them know they have it within them, that inner strength. Many of the people being bullied today simply want someone who can let them know they are good enough.

I also feel its the education and maturity that can stop it completely as only those that haven't got matured overtime will go for cyber bullying

I'm not sure this is a case of maturity because we still have grown-ups who are still vulnerable to cyberbullying. Well, maybe they are just grown in age only and not a maturity.

That's what I mean by maturity because age does not make you a matured person but circumstances does

There is no way you can stop cyber bullying. That's because it is easier to remain unknown or hide behind the screen, however what you can actually do is avoid being bullied online. Of someone starts bullying you just block him

Sharp, no time to brood. Hit the block button straight up.

Yes that's just, blocking them would save a lot of trouble and stress. Then again i think most social media apps can still help to some extent. Like on Facebook there are certain keywords you can't make use of. And there are certain things you might post that would be taken down cause it goes against certain rules.

If you are victim, just shut yourself on the platform where you are bullied. This is as simple as this. Why should you stay with the platform and try to defend yourself making your mental health even worse? We have a lot of choices these days, so leave the platform where you are bullied.

Yes this is the thing to do, like I remember when I first joined a graphic design community for my country on Facebook. Whenever I made a design I would post it. Back then was still learning. I found out that the people there where very toxic. All they do is talk down about your design and tell you why you shouldn't be a designer any longer without even giving you any real corrections to grow. I brought up the issue one day, I created a topic and I talked about it, that it was wrong. But there was no positive response. I just stop posting there.

Very good advice. There's absolutely no need to linger around such people, I do leave such platforms as soon as possible. Can't allow a stranger to prey on my feelings.

It's unfortunate that most people do not have the idea to quicky leave such platforms the moment they notice it.

They probably thought that they can change people's mind and make them see the right thing. But in effect, they are putting themselves in danger.

Here are some ways to reduce cyberbullying:

1. Education and awareness.
2. Parental involvement.
3. Block and report.
4. Kindness campaigns.
5. Cyberbullying Policies.
6. Anonymous reporting.
7. Digital citizenship.
8. Collaboration with tech companies.
9. Continuous monitoring
10. Consequences for bullies.

It must be understood that reducing cyberbullying requires a collective effort from individuals, communities, and organizations.

Very nice points you gave. I particularly agree with the last one. Ensuring that bullies are properly punished can serve as a lesson and deterrent from future occurrences.

Education and awareness is most important and it'll help in controlling cyber bullying
