What does it look like? Was it hard to install? Do you recommend it?

I’ve never used the Wordpress forum plugin myself but I’ve seen it being used by others and it looks good - better than most forum softwares. For anyone that has used it for their website, I would love to know more about it, such as ease-of-use for administrators.

What did it look like? Modern?

I've played around with it in the past but never used it for any serious projects.

I've used it once, just to try it out but I never used it on a live site. I was a member on a forum that used the software, honestly I prefer to install forum software on the same server and have a subdomain that points to the software rather than using any Wordpress forum plugins.

Thought about using it but went with XenForo instead just to be safe since that's what I'm familiar with...

I used it many years ago. It had the same issues that WP blogs had at the time with spam sign ups. It didn’t last long. The penis extension advertisements killed it.

I’m now expecting penis extension adverts as I browse the web.

For the record; not required. 🤭

Good call. There are several forum plugins for WordPress. I tried Buddypress and some others, and honestly, they are quite lacking. They don't offer many key forum features, are hard to set up, and just are a pain to work with.

Xenforo is by far the best forum software you can use right now, in my opinion. :D

I've not used any sort of WordPress forum software for forums but I might consider it cause I want to setup a math site to showcase my tutoring and it's difficult to find free forum software with math notation possibility.

Well, phpBB has it on an older version. However, I like to keep things up to date.

No, I've not used WordPress forum plugin. I've never owned any forum. Forum management isn't what I've got the stomach for but love using forums.

Yeah, using forums is more peaceful and quiet than using social media heavily. I don't like being in a toxic place. Social media is toxic.
Agreed. I'll never touch FB again. I do use Instagram since I enjoy funny animal videos. And Youtube for music. I don't post on Youtube tho...

Ah yes, I've heard of similar services. Seems like it is decentralized. Looks cool, thanks!
No problem yeah I like to use free and open source stuff more than using the big companies for everything...

I am using WPFORO on another site now, and it is pretty robust for something that is free.
