It's that time of the month again! A new month brings a new contest and this time we are changing things up a little after seeing the feedback regarding previous contests.

AUGUST END OF SUMMER SHOWDOWN DETAILS

This month we will be basing the winners on top posters of the month but newly created threads will give you more points towards your final number at the end of the month!

August End of Summer Contest Rules!

The winners of this contest will be based on your post count on the 31st of August 2024 but you will get brownie points for threads you create throughout August as long as these are not spam threads!

New threads created by you will add 4 posts to your final post count at the end of the month!

For example, if you have 300 posts by 31st August 2024 and have 10 created threads within that month that are not spam posts to gain the brownie posts that will be 300 + 40 = 340 will be your final post count.

You can see how many threads you created on September 1st 2024 by going here but please note, that this will not update your threads for August until the 1st of September!

You must also have an avatar, even just something simple! Those with the default avatar, when the contest ends, will not be counted towards the winners.

Rules! ‼️ ‼️

  1. A counted participation of 40 words or more must not be spam. If the reply requires less than 40 words do not attempt to resay the same thing to fulfill the 40-word requirement.
  2. Posts and threads should be on topic and posted in the correct forums, we understand that mistakes can happen and if you do happen to post a thread in the wrong forum, please report it and we can move it for you.
  3. Threads and replies should be your own content and not directly copied and pasted from another site to Discussion Hub to increase your post count. This is plagiarism and your posts will be removed, persistent offences will disqualify you from the contests.
  4. Winners will be responsible for any fees incurred when sending the payments. Any fees that are deducted are out of our hands. Shortie uses Coinbase to purchase any crypto to be sent and in some cases, does receive a coinbase fee and a network fee, this is something Shortie can not avoid and the final amount sent and received is subject to fees taken.
  5. Your post count will no longer increase in the forum games section, the celebrations forum or the introduction section

3) $16
4) $14
5) $12

This is awesome!! I missed last month's contest because it was a busy period for me, but I'm back with a bang! Let's set the ball rolling!⛹️

I know that some people would be trying to create meaningless threads in order to increase their points. Please be rest assured that I would report them to the admins.

And @Shortie, when I reported meaningless threads to you, be sure to check them and delete them if found to be true. We want to still have sweet engagements and discussions here even if we are running a contest. Congrats to everyone that would participate in advance.

Good one, it would stop people from just creating random threads that does not really make sense.

All the best to all the users. I was worried that there was no announcement of the contest till 3rd August so was not active here. I will start my journey today now.

Wow! Excited to see a new contest with the new month. That's encouraging. Let's all buckle up, get started and enjoy it. I am happy to see that the rules encourage posting of more new threads. So, hoping that we will have more interesting topics to discuss.

I am happy that this contest will ensure the creation of new threads because I was bored on this site as I was not able to find threads to respond to.

Yes, the interest level is maintained with new topics of discussion. But hopefully people also respond to the threads created, else there is no point of new threads being created. Hope that people don't keep posting new threads only to gain points. There should be a balance. A forum is meant for meaningful conversation and involvement.

I would suggest @Shortie to approve the threads before they are published.

That might not be needed. Hope so. That might be a joy killer. As long as people have that inner responsibility, they don't need such kind of policing. But yes, if we see some ill practices, we can always report here.

Yes, people should be responsible not to create threads just to gain points as that will make this site a spam centre.

Yes, it has happened in other sites. It's actually bad to do so for a short term gain. Once spamming starts, the quality of the site declines and that is not good for anyone in long run. Not for the site or the users. If site looses it's credibility, it looses it's earning too

I feel approving threads would be a big job and would lead to delays. We are going to let threads be posted without approval but will be keeping a close eye on them. If you feel there is anything untoward or have a concern about a thread, please do report it and we will take a look :)

Thank you! :)

@Shortie which means you can't see how many thread you have created for August until the end of the month?

@Shortie, check this user, @Amdhone3qq, he is posting very short contents. Less than 7 words. I just did a snapshot of the few ones I could snap. Checkout the thread he started in the screenshot I attached. It's less than 12 words. If you check all his posts, you would see a lot of senseless 10 worded posts. I have reported the ones that I can. You should check his profile and delete all those spam posts and possibly ban him from this contest.

@Shortie, anytime you come online, please check the post that I made on this thread earlier. It is important for the integrity of this forum. Thanks as I know you would do justice to this issue.

I have a suggestion here. You should report such posts through report button and should not complain like you did here on this thread.

If the posts you see could be reported we can look into them further and deal with them appropriately.

Thanks :)

It is hard to create quality threads otherwise you did not see it logic that someone posts 1000 posts a month and all of them are quality posts, sure there is outside discussions and also threads with low grammar or poor grammar let's say 10 % is tolerable average but more than that leads to be disqualified for a prize. What do you think @Shortie ?
