Gold Boy managed Silver

Kingpin
I was shocked when I read the news that Neeraj Chopra won silver medal. I was expecting that he would win the gold medal. He has always performed well in the major events. Arshad Nadeem is a good athelete but has never performed better than Neeraj Chopra.
I was also feeling shocked because of this but as per the news Neeraj was injured and still managed Silver so it's an achievement.

That's what happened when someone is getting too much hype. A lot was expected from the Chopra kid but he couldn't live up to it. Was it his fault? Probably not, he was most likely expected to deliver more than what he is capable of.

This is the first time he was defeated by this Pakistani opponent. This is because Neeraj was suffering from pain and will have surgery of Hernia soon. But this Pakistani boy showed good perfomance by breaking the Olympics record.

This is the level of Neeraj Chopra that this guy won silver but still people are feeling bad because they know he has the ability to win Gold

No, this is not his level. He should have won the gold medal. Nadeem never threw the javelin so consistently above 90 meters; he was fortunate that he managed to do this in the Olympics, or, as you can say, it was bad luck for Chopra.

Athletes are prone to injuries. There has been no athlete or sportsperson in the history without any history of injury. It's a part of their career. They all go through minor and major injuries. And few treatments including some surgeries too. And field athletes run more risk of backaches, muscle pull etc. Despite the protection belt, the run and throw in Javelin does not make you 100 percent safe from back muscle pull, spine displacement or knees issue.

We can't compare athletes from different times. When Milkha Singh and PT Usha pursued their athletic careers, the support and infrastructure was not so good. Milkha Singh used to practice on barefoot. Without any doubt, Neeraj Chopra is a world class athlete and one of the best in the world. Athletes of each generation inspire many more in coming generations.

This is not hype sir. He's such a gem and just figure out he won silver but still everyone was dissappointed

Neeraj Chopra is not someone hyped. Whatever he has today is all that he has earned and truly deserves. He is a very down to earth person coming from a humble background. He has one of the best records that any athlete can have. And that shows his consistency in performance. He has a streak of Gold medals in all the major events. And a silver in Olympics despite a bad injury is a feat in itself. He is one athlete to have Gold and Silver medals in two consecutive Olympics. That's incredible

And my intuition says he will win a medal at the next Olympics and the Asian Games. He is one of the best athletes we have ever had in India. The event in which he won the medals is not so popular in India, and I don't think before him someone ever had such a good performance in the major events.
