Gold Boy managed Silver

And my intuition says he will win a medal at the next Olympics and the Asian Games. He is one of the best athletes we have ever had in India. The event in which he won the medals is not so popular in India, and I don't think before him someone ever had such a good performance in the major events.
I agree there. I just hope that he heals fast from the injury and also he has his hernia surgery due. Hope that all goes well and he heals soon to be back on field. We just need one World Cup win and Kapil Dev to inspire cricketers for generations to come, one Sunil Chetri for youngsters to think about Football ( despite it not being popular), one Jaspal Rana to inspire shooters, one Deepa to inspire artistic gymnast, Mary kom for boxing.... and so on. Neeraj Chopra has already inspired many youths to go for Javelin throw. Indian athletes are showing interest in these things now. That's a good sign for Sports of the country

That's what I also wanted to mention that these kinds of people encourage and assist others in pursuing careers in sports. The days of asking children to focus solely on their studies and neglecting their abilities are gone.

Hmm...here in our traditional society still parents are more for academic path and a well settled career with job security. But yes, these kind of stories do inspire many youths to take their dream path and prove themselves.

Neeraj Chopra is considered as the Golden boy of India and India's hopes were on Neeraj to win the Gold medal for India like the Tokyo Olympics but it was Arshad Nadeem from Pakistan who won Gold with a Monstrous Javelin throw of 92m. This was the 1st Silver for India in Paris Olympics.
I think that this time's Olympic games was very tough for that reasonsy.

Yes, this will open the eyes of people and they will inspire their kids to do something special in the sports. There is lots of money one can earn from the sports too, if a person has a talent and skilled.

Yes, it has potential to become a very lucrative career not only in terms of a accomplishments and accolades, but also in terms of money. But then the journey might be full of challenges. Other than what you can work on at individual level, you need luck. Not to forget, the system can be supportive but also hindrance at many times. One needs to be mentally very strong to face it.

Even after the player gets old he may become a couch as it's too have good prospects in India. Sports other cricket has less competition so people may try them.

We feel that as an outsider. The competition might be less as compared to Cricket, but still it's very much there. With a huge population, we don't have lack of prospective candidates in any field. My mentor's daughter was into artistic gymnastics and for every selection camp, there was a huge line. She reached till national level, only to have an injury that made her leave sports for life. She changed her career path. Many coaches saw her as a prospective medalist for this Olympics.

Gymnastics is not an easy sport. Your body needs to be very flexible, and at a certain age, you cannot do it as well as you can when you are young. That's why, in major events, we see more teenagers in this sport.

She started at the age of 7. She has represented India in many Asian events under 13 and 17. This accident happened in 2021. She was 19 then.

The gymnasts retire at very low age because their body after 20 years don't allow them to perform like they do in their teen age.

Some of the world's best gymnasts had a lucrative career and best performances till their mid twenties or early thirties. Deepa when ended up at 4th in 2016 Olympics was in her twenties.

Dramatically on the other Side Nadeem's Gold helped him earn the much awaited Respect, Achievement, Earnings so it's all good.

Nadeem is a wonderful athlete. And he has won over other world class athletes. He is worth all the attention and respect that he is getting. Getting a gold at Olympics is a great feat and dream come true for any athlete. It's a proud thing and he deserves everything that he is getting now.

I too agree with you 100% for sure

He is still getting cash from the people. I read he got a buffalo from his father-in-law as a gift. Yes, he deserves all the appreciation he is getting.

Yes, the buffalo gifting has been making headlines on all the platforms online and you get to see many humor and wit flowing in the comments. And unfortunately, some troll would do what they are good at. His father in law said that buffalo is gifted as sign of prosperity and progress in their culture.

The next Olympics is still too far. I hope Neeraj Chopra will participate and stay fit and bring Gold to India.

He is still young and I am very much sure that he can play for one or two more Olympics. He has even postponed his hernia surgery for a while as he is going for another tournament in the coming month. It would have been better for him to take care of his health first. He can miss a few events and take time to rest and heal.

Olympics and common wealth games are most important so this kid should be taken care of well
