What do you look at when buying smartphones?

Stardom22
I check the price, camera of the phone (pixel), battery, weight, and size of the phone before buying it. Apart from this, I check if it's a good brand and the latest model because we don't get the spare parts of outdated models easily.
I think that if the phone brand is a popular one, then there will be no issues with getting spare parts of the phone. But if I'm getting a new phone I won't have to worry about the availability of spare parts because I'm somebody who uses a phone very carefully so no part of it gets spoilt

Huawei honor? Is it not a popular phone brand in your country? If no, that explains why it will not be easy to get spare parts of the phone over there.
A few of my colleagues went for these brands and they were unable to get them repaired because of non availability of spare parts, you can also add Panasonic to this list

If that is the case, then I wouldn't want to get a phone that is not popular in my country. It can be stressful when there is no spare part of the phone close by. I would not want to start ordering for parts online for it to be shipped to my country, so it's better to get a phone in which I can easily replace the parts.

When buying smartphones, there are several factors to consider based on personal preferences and needs. Some key considerations include:

1. **Operating System (OS):** Decide whether you prefer iOS (Apple), Android (Google), or another operating system. Each has its own ecosystem, user interface, and app availability.

2. **Performance:** Look for a fast processor, sufficient RAM, and ample storage space to ensure smooth performance, multitasking capability, and storage for apps, photos, and files.

3. **Display:** Consider factors such as screen size, resolution, and display technology (e.g., LCD, OLED) for a vibrant and immersive viewing experience.

4. **Camera Quality:** Assess the camera specifications, including megapixels, aperture size, image stabilization, and additional features like night mode or optical zoom, based on your photography preferences.

5. **Battery Life:** Look for a smartphone with long battery life and fast charging capabilities to keep up with your usage throughout the day.

6. **Build Quality and Design:** Consider factors such as build materials (e.g., glass, metal, plastic), durability, and design aesthetics to find a smartphone that suits your style and preferences.

7. **Connectivity:** Ensure the smartphone supports the latest wireless connectivity standards (e.g., Wi-Fi 6, 5G) and has essential features like Bluetooth, NFC, and GPS.

8. **Software Features:** Evaluate the software features and customization options offered by the manufacturer's user interface (e.g., Samsung One UI, Xiaomi MIUI) to find a smartphone with features that align with your preferences.

9. **Security and Privacy:** Consider features such as fingerprint sensors, facial recognition, and privacy controls to ensure your data and personal information are secure.

10. **Price:** Set a budget and compare prices across different models to find a smartphone that offers the best value for your money based on your needs and preferences.

By considering these factors, you can make an informed decision and choose a smartphone that best suits your lifestyle, preferences, and budget.
Exactly, this is why it takes time for me to select when it comes to choosing the phone to buy. In the end when I finally choose a phone that fits everything, the price might not be what I can afford at the moment, so I go back to searching again.

My sister once bought a phone that was not popular in my country, the phone was pretty strong, but when it started having issues, they could not find the spare parts, that was how she stopped using the phone.
That's the problem with having phone brands that are not popular. The phone might work well, but just pray it doesn't get spoilt, otherwise, forget about it.
