I believe it's no new news that gaming could cause addiction, this is one of the reasons why most parents do not allow their kids play them for so long. But what actually causes these addiction? How does gaming really make a person addicted?

It is the adrenaline rush that pushes you to stay winning that causes you to be addicted to such a game. The entertainment and fun factor could also lead to addiction because we humans generally love anything that would make us entertained.

It actually makes sense, that adrenaline rush can be a great feeling, and without one knowing they would start playing more just so they can feel that way.

Doing something you can't in real life without risking to be caught or basically dying. And when you find interesting ways of doing it, it makes things really enjoyable so your hormones go up, and when you are done gaming, it will go down. So you are slowly becoming addicted on that fake happiness and you need to spend more time to feed your brain thus you are addicted by then.

There's this urge that you always feel when playing games that will make you to be persistent and continue playing even when things ain't going normal at your environment. Being addicted isn't what someone will get out of so easily.

When Hogwarts: Legacy finally came out last year, I only played it on my days off because I could get totally immersed in the game and lose all track of time. If I was unable to manage that, I would have given the game to my hubby so that he could hold it for me until my days off. As much as I was enjoying the game, I didn't want it to cost me my job. So, I made sure to regulate when I was playing it.

With that being said, I can see how people get addicted to a video game and lose track of their time. If people can't control that, there needs to be someone there that can help them with it. If that's not possible then they shouldn't be allowed to play in the first place.
