How can one protect themselves when doing online shopping? How do you know that the site you are shopping on is secure?
Do you also tend to read reviews of a site before making any purchases?

I don't like shopping online as I prefer to order everything from my workplace where I get an employee discount.

That sounds awesome but not everyone has that advantage. Where do you work? Can you shop for anything you want at your workplace?
Plus, it's nice to support your employer's business when possible. Shopping online isn't for everyone, and it's great that you've found a method that works well for you.

I don't like to give out too much info online but I'll let you guess. I work for a well known, gigantic hardware company that is all over North America and has hundreds of outlets. They sell just about everything including clothes and even food.

I usually shop on trusted sites like Amazon, Best Buy, and even TEMU. However, for unfamiliar websites, I typically Google the domain name to check if there are any complaints. I also look at reviews on Trustpilot and always use a virtual credit card for purchases on these sites.

There is only one or two sites that I trust hundred percent to shop from. And this is because I have been shopping with them for years now so I'm certain that they are legit. If any new online shopping site comes up, I might not even near it.

@Teegold trusted sites are more reliable in that they are more likely to deliver products promptly and accurately, reducing the risk of delays or errors in orders.

Exactly, that is why one has to be very meticulous when dealing with them. I always take time to filter out the unreliable ones from those that are legit.

I think the best thing you can do is to use payment methods that you trust and online shopping websites that are trustworthy, for example in large e-commerce stores.

I will never again buy from sites that sell at very low prices because they did not just cheat me out of money. They received the funds from me, because for some reason I sent them the funds first without receiving the goods, and then they did not send the goods, but only said that they had delays, problems with the Internet, and so on for more than a week, and refused to return the money

I prefer to shop from a trusted website and this is how I am trying to play it safe as in online shopping we need to take care of many things and after sales service too

Better safe than sorry. There are lots of fraudsters online, so we have to be extremely careful how we do things.

There are so many e-commerce websites from which we can shop but we should go for only reliable and established websites because they are reliable and we can get refund and even return items as per the return policy

This is why I make sure that whenever I want to buy things online, I patronize the well-known platforms. At least I know that I can count on them to an extent.

This is why it's better to ignore the best deals if these are coming from a website which we don't even trust

I don't shop from sites I don't trust. Or before shopping I always ensure I find someone who has bought something from there before and ask for their review.

I prefer to shop from stores and like to check the product before I purchase that's the reason I don't prefer online shopping

I am always shopping online and its best as we can get easy returns and even refunds

This is the major advantage offline stores have over online ones. You have the ability to check your product properly before buying.

I know its more convenient and that's why I am very rarely buying clothes online
