How does it make you feel to be yelled at?

Shortie⁷
I grew up being yelled at by my parents (not to mention physically disciplined), so I kinda grew up with an anxiety disorder where I'm very sensitive to hostility, including being yelled at. I'd definitely yell back if someone does that, no question.
This happened to me too. It will make you to be too anxious for nothing and it's very bad. I yell back to people even as an adult that I am now, I used to regret such moments.

I It depend son who yelled out to you. If you were yelled out by your parents or even uncle, you might not feel too bad but if you are yelled at by a stranger or an outsider, it certainly feels bad.
I can agree with this. As a kid, if me my brothers and I ever did anything wrong, we were always yelled at, but if it was a family member, it was never too bad, but you know you did wrong.

Being yelled at by strangers or even people in your neighbourhood has a different feeling.

It makes me angry so I yell back, especially if I don't even like or respect the person to begin with. I may even throw a few punches.
Even though when I get shouted at and if it is a stranger, I do get taken aback, growing up, I was always taught to stick up for myself, so I tend to always yell back too.

I am sure that nobody likes to be yelled at. Luckily, I grew up in a household that was safe, comfortable and we followed the discipline of the house because elders did. My husband grew up in a contrast where he was continously yelled at and even disciplined physically. His siblings also had the same upbringing. Parents had a good intention behind doing that but it did impact them with anxiety and low self esteem till each one grew up to be adult and tried healing themselves in different ways.
