How can one remedy overdose of medication?

Every drugs has their own prescriptions. But some people maybe, out of ignorance, take an overdose of a medication. A neighbour of mine suddenly has become unresponsive because of drugs overdose.

Are there quick remedies to combat the complications from drug overdose while trying to get medical attention for the person?

In some cases there are no quick remedies. I have seen cases were they rush them to the hospital, only to not get there fast enough. The best remedy is to abstain from it and ensure it does not happen at all.

There is a drip that they administer to neutralize the effects of that overdose. When that happens, the person should be rushed to the hospital immediately.
