Today, New Jersey experienced a 4.8 magnitude earthquake, and I actually felt it. I believe it's the first earthquake I've experienced where I really noticed the effects. It almost seemed as if my house was moving or on the verge of collapsing. It was pretty frightening. Have you ever experienced an earthquake? What was it like for you?

I was laying in my bed once, I think that I was 12 years old at the time and the bed shook for about 7 or 8 seconds and it actually woke me up. I knew right away that it was an earthquake and everybody was talking about it after I got out of bed.

No, I’ve never felt nor experienced an earthquake before. i’ve experienced hurricanes though.

I have never experienced one before, but I have seen a lot of news and different cases about earthquake and it's not really something anyone would want to experience.

Yes, I have experienced it a few times. But it was just very low and nothing much could be felt. I have experienced the tremors a few times during my stay in the Delhi. It was very mild and many would not even realise it. The epicenter was very far and we just felt the tremors. It has happened a few times.

Oh wow, what was it like though? Where you guys told before hand something like that would happen or did it happen unexpectedly? And where you scared or worried at first ?

The most unsettling earthquake I've felt happened while I was working on the 22nd floor of an office building. Without warning, the whole structure started violently shaking and swaying. My desk was trembling, objects were falling off shelves, and an ominous rumbling sound amplified the fear. It lasted only about 30 seconds but felt like an eternity. Afterwards, my legs were shaky as we evacuated down the stairs. While no major damage occurred, the powerlessness during those terrifying moments of a 5.8 magnitude quake was something I'll never forget.

Michigan rarely gets earthquakes but I have felt 2. My chair did a little shaking for about 5 seconds. It really wasn't a big deal thank goodness.

I've had no experience with earthquakes due to my location for most of my life. and even when in an earthquake zone, it just never happened. Anyway, the only disasters I have been threatened with are tsunamis and tornadoes, based on where I have lived.

I have never felt an earthquake because I live in a region where it never happens. I cannot claim that we do not have earthquakes at all, because they can be very weak and very deep underground, which are simply not felt on the surface

It was all unexpectedly. The first time that I remember was when I was ten and it happened around 3 AM. My mother took us all out as soon as we felt the tremors. There were many other people out in the neighborhood. We waited for about an hour and two more after shocks were felt. It was very mild and as a child ( unaware of the devastation) I found it thrilling and actually enjoyed it. The latest one was few years back. My husband called from his office to ask if I felt it. I was in a mall at that time with my children. And we didn't realise it as we were on ths escalator when it happened.
