To be frank, he is not, there's nothing wrong with working from home, same way there's nothing wrong with commuting to work. Everyone should do what works best for them.
 
Everything he said is pointless. It might be what he think or how he does it. Whether you are working from home or going from house to your work place, what matters is that you are earning money and can take care of yourself.
