Do you think standard songs are dying?

While contemporary music dominates charts, standard songs are not necessarily dying but rather evolving. Classic tunes often get rediscovered through covers, remixes, or appearances in films and TV shows. They still hold cultural significance and are performed in various venues. The definition of standard may shift as new songs gain timeless appeal. Ultimately, quality music endures through generations, adapting to new contexts.

I do not feel there is a decline in the standard songs but they are evolving and taking new forms every now and then. Music changes but the sense of the olden day songs can still be felt.

Music is just revolving and for the standard songs, they are lot of new forms in it. Quality songs are still felt even as music changes.

Standard songs never die like the song of Elvis Presley ' Can't Help Falling in Love and the song of the Right Brothers entitled' Unchained Melody '. They're songs that never die and forgotten.

As Scorpion said, standards never die but new standards are dying out because today's popular music is boring rubbish which speaks to neither head nor heart. I lost interest in modern music in the 1990s.

I say this all the time, they do not make music like they used to, especially mainstream music that you hear on the radio. I think this is why I choose to listen to music I enjoy in places such as Spotify.

Some of the songs that we have today seem weird. They do not appeal to the listeners. Some songs no longer evoke appeals. Some songs in my country are useless and tasteless. .
