Depression

Excommunicado
I had very serious depression, close to clinical and they offered hospitalization which I refused. The idea was to hang out with other people there so I have more interaction with humans. I was suggested to do that as well by myself. To go and train something etc. And it worked.
I meant that it’s not as simple as socialising for everyone. It works for some people, like it worked for you, but it’s not a solution to all depression. Nonetheless, I’m glad to hear that you are doing better now.

Socialization wasn't much of a choice. I was put in a group of other people who have their own issues so all of us would share the problem. It works better like that. But, besides this, I read many popular psychology books and applied in my life. I am self depended and I don't really need any other human to be happy. Yes, having a gf would make my life better but even without I live good life. Not dependent on anyone.

I can understand that but in my experience socializing only helps to a certain point it takes a lot of time to come out of depression just time good meditation and good company
All is in the head. All we do in life comes from our own actions. We must change ourselves first and then other things will follow.

I had very strong depression back in my teens and early twenties. I was bullied a lot in school due to being the quiet type and for the longest time, I held onto the belief that humans are evil beings. I actually am on anti-depressants because my depression has been like an illness instead of something I could get over myself. For the most part, I've been pretty happy ever since I quit my last two jobs. I enjoy my current two part-time jobs.

Have you ever experienced depression? How did you deal with it? This is a very sensitive topic for many so please be mindful of what you say.

I can still remember how depressed I was when I had my first heartbreak. It was never an easy moment for me at all as I was growing to love and having my heart shattered into pieces made me feel so sad and depressed. It is crazy though that I can talk about this now, but the experience then wasn't funny at all.

I've never experienced depression but my brother did. It was very difficult battling it. To make matters worse, he was suicidal at one point. He's still going for therapy.

When a family member whom you're very close to is suffering from depression, each and everyone in the family will be feeling the pain. It will get worst should the person become suicidal. No one in the family will have peace of mind ever.

Being depressed and having depression are two different things, right? Anyone can get depressed when the are frustrated, angry, sad, dejected. For instance, a gloomy weather, incessant rain can make you depressed. However, depression is something more than that. It is clinial condition. I don't have depression

I think you have a very good point on how you analyzed being depressed and having depression because it is obvious that one of them is at a very critical condition where the person will not be able to take care of the situation without getting extra medical help.
