Ask Stan

Lately, I've been watching some Korean game shows and the last movie I caught was "The Bee Keeper." As for reading, I've mostly been looking at technical documents, so not much in the way of leisure reading. So, no, nothing recent in that regard. :) In the past, however, there have been a few movies that left a big impression on me, especially those dealing with cancer and death. They resonated with me deeply, as most of my family has passed away from cancer.

What qualities do you value the most in your friends and the people you surround yourself with?

The qualities I treasure most in my friends and the people around me are kindness, honesty, and a good sense of humor. Kindness, because it's the foundation of any strong relationship; it's about being considerate and supportive. Honesty is crucial too; it builds trust and keeps communication open and genuine. And a good sense of humor? Well, that makes all the ups and downs of life a bit more enjoyable. Sharing laughs and finding joy in the little things can really make a difference in how we connect and support each other.

Very good question :)

#1- Coins, how do I know how many I have saved up? How do I cash them in? I want to purchase where my name is highlighted in bold letters but don't know how to go about doing that.

#2- How long has this forum been around?

#1 - You just need to go to the DH Store to see your current Coin count on the left side:

#2 - I took the website over from @Excommunicado late in 2023. I think he started getting it all setup back in 2022.

What's your favorite food?
PIZZA!

If I really could only eat 1 food for the rest of my life, it would have to be Pizza. Though I do like other Italian dishes like baked ziti, lasagna or chicken parm.

Hey Stan, How much money are you spending to maintain DH, including the cash prizes for the content? You can skip the question if you want. :D

I haven’t really calculated the total amount I’ve spent on it yet. In addition to covering the prize money, I’ve also invested in advertising on other sites and SEO work. I plan to increase my spending on SEO in the coming months. :)

I think my oldest website is myGamer, which I created in 1996. Before that, I had gameunit.com, which I started in 1994 and then rebranded to myGamer in 1996.

How many forums do you own? How much do you earn from them?

How much money do you make from discussion hub? If you don't want answer don't answer it.

I own between 5 and 10, and really do not make any money from them as a matter of fact I loose money.

When I opened mygamer.com I added a forum to it since our readers were asking for it.
Why do you still continue with owning forums if you are loosing money from it?

I don't think one loses money from it. Maybe he is not earning anything from the forums.

According to what he said m, he is not earning but loosing, which means he is probably pumping more money into it. And it's either not generating money or what comes out is not up to what goes in.

I loose over $150 each month on this site. As you can see, we don't run any ads or offer paid subscriptions, which means we're not generating any revenue. Despite the costs, we aim to keep the site free and accessible for everyone, which unfortunately results in a financial deficit each month.

This is 100% correct. On other forums I do run some ad's but I do not make money or break even from hosting and other costs associated with running them.

Wow, you forum owners are really trying, it's not easy running these forums at all.
