Sports Are English football/ soccer players overrated?

Some people believe that English footballers are not worth the hype they get. They feel the English media tends to over hype their players to inflate their valuation. I might believe this because it is a very long time an English footballer won the Balloon D' Or. Not even the FIFA best player has been recently won by an English footballer.

Do you consider English players overrated?

I don't follow football but I am aware of few good Footballers and none in English so I assume they are overrated like I see how they do with England cricketers

This is true because the English players are not that strong, but the English Championship is strong because they buy the best players, that's why there are so many strong teams that can compete with each other. And in this problem, sometimes a very strong team can take a low place and not even get into the Eurocups
