Gaming Battlefield 6: Free-to-Play Battle Royale Mode

There is not much news on the Battlefield 6 Battle Royale that is being released free-to-play from what I have heard, not too long after the release of the main game.

What are your thoughts on a Battlefield Battle Royale? Will you be playing it?

I think it is a smart move. I'd prefer them to simply add it into the main game as a mode and not do what CoD does with Warzone. Let players jump from BR to TDM and such.

I also think it is a big step for streaming, as BR is great for streamers, and this pulls gamers into the game, who can then find the other modes.

I agree with you. I could never understand why COD made their BR a separate game; it seemed weird that they didn't make it part of the base game.

Hoping Battlefield does not follow in the footsteps of COD.

I believe this is what they are hoping for. People are more inclined to play a free-to-play game as they have nothing to lose and it could bring new players and a bigger playerbase to the main game.

Precisely, free-to-play can be the mechanism to increase the player base of any game. And in case the mechanics is done well, it may be a game that both casual and hardcore gamers will find themselves glued to.

Totally agree; a F2P BR could be massive for reach and streaming. But I’d still love to see it integrated into the main game. These studios have the talent and funding to build a UI that supports both free and paid modes seamlessly. We shouldn’t accept excuses for fragmentation when smart design can do both.
