Nine million empty housing exist in Japan, which is greater than the number of people living in New York City. Experts claim that this notable increase in empty homes is a result of Japan's decreasing population. According to statistics published by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, 14% of all residential homes in Japan are unoccupied, CNN said.

This situation is worrisome for them. Hope they find a solution for the same soon.

The government of Japan must seriously think about the situation. I have heard that in Japan, because of the high cost of even the most basic things, people don't want to marry and don't want to have kids, which is resulting in a decline in the population.

From the last few years we are able to control the growth rate but already the population is so high so will take lots of years to control the population of the country.
