For the body to function at its best, doctors advise consuming eight glasses of water every day. Hydration is an important part of our daily routine. However it turns out that timing is just as important when it comes to hydration. For example, it's best for hydrating your body right away as you get up if you want to start the day off well. In the same way, consuming water before, during, and after meals can help improve digestion and ensure that nutrients are taken in by the body in appropriate quantities.

The proper timing of water consumption can enhance metabolism, satiety, ease of digestion, and nutritional absorption. Water consumption too soon before meals might dilute digestive fluids and restrict the flow of nutrients.

Experts advise drinking water 30 minutes before a meal to help with satiety and the breakdown of food.

To ensure optimal digestion and absorption, it is generally advised to wait for at least 30 to 60 minutes after a meal before ingesting large amounts of water in order to avoid drinking too much after eating.

I actually drink a lot of water after eating. In fact I drink when I'm eating too. Water aids digestion, which is the point of eating in the first place. Really, what is life without water?

It does not matter whether you drink water pre meal or post meal, what actually matters is there is at least 30 minutes time difference. If you want to drink water before your meal, make sure you drink 30 minutes before your meal and if you want to drink after your meal, drink water only after 30 minutes pass.

I am trying to stay hydrated, so I am always drinking water as much as I can. Most times while eating I drink water all though the eating process.

We should not drink water just after meals because it dilutes the necessary acids required to digest our food, which results in indigestion. It's better to wait for at least 15 minutes to drink water. Yes, water is life, and no one can live without it.

Are you for real? This is the first time I'm hearing about this. Is this claim scientifically backed? Because I have never had indigestion from taking water immediately after meals.

I prefer to have around 30 mins after the meal and in between only when I am unable to resist because of the spiciness of the food

30 minutes? That's so weird. If I decide to wait for that long to drink water after eating, I might forget eventually. So it is better I drink water immediately after eating.

That morning one is a must for me. I use to practice it even up till today. I don't know, I just love the idea and it resonates with me

I drink water immediately after eating. I can't afford to wait even for seconds, else I might have stomach problems.

Why does it matter? Everyone have their own choice as long as it befits their stomach. As for me, I drink water when I eat and after eating.
