What is your alternative social media?

For example, Bluesky for Twitter; Pixelfed for Instagram; Diaspora* for Facebook; Lemmy for Reddit...

I am trying to find niche sites to break away from the mainstream social network. I'm getting into Fediverse as well. Anyone would like to share theirs?

Admins, I know you guys have the power to move threads. If you think this could fit in the Internet & Technology subforum better. I guess go for it.

Aside from social networks like listed above, I love hopping into forums. It's cozier here without the algorithm bugging me about nonsense I barely care about.

I guess Bluesky is a popular pick for a twitter alternative. I understand the appeal; I just realized it's not for me. My feed also seemed so doom and gloom despite forcibly curating it to have cat pics. But, that's because I don't have a circle there, and the only one I'm following went inactive and crawled back to Twitter.

I've considered getting a Mastadon acc, I just don't have anyone to follow there yet.

As much as I do still use Twitter/X when I need to, I have found that I am starting to use Bluesky a little more. I find that Bluesky is very much the bigger alternative when it comes to those not wanting to use Twitter/X anymore.

I wonder what anyone's alternative instagram or facebook socials are. Not that I have one, I rather write my own blogs in the most niche corner of the internet.
