Some people diet to put on weight or muscle. Is it more difficult to put on weight or lose weight?

I diet to lose weight and its been many years that I am over weight and things are not improving because I was never able to diet or exercise for a longer duration. And I think its tough to lose weight then to gain.

Some people diet to put on weight or muscle. Is it more difficult to put on weight or lose weight?
 
Though it depends on your body type, I know some persons who find it extremely hard to put on weight but for me it's extremely easy. If you want to loose weight, you can try intermittent fasting. It does help.
 
Putting weight is difficult for me. No matter what diet I take, I don't put on any weight.
