Even if the kids live close to their homes, a small allowance can teach them about managing money-making choices. They will also learn to save up for the things they want. It is a tiny dose of financial responsibility. The kids will feel insecure if they do not have an allowance. They feel down and left behind by their classmates, so parents must give kids at least a small allowance despite homes near.

It is always a good idea to give your kids an allowance, even if they are not far from home, so that they can get used to managing money. I do this with my kids, and it has taught them to save and only spend when they need to.
