Monsoon rains and upstream river water from India have caused severe flooding in northeastern Bangladesh, stranding more than 2 million people. The situation may worsen, officials said on Friday. The Bangladesh Meteorological Department predicts further heavy rains in the coming days, which could lead to flooding and cause landslides in higher areas. Things are likely to become worse in Bangladesh. These natural disasters are difficult to tackle.

That is the problem with natural disasters, once they come there is no way to stop them. But I hope that the government is taking measures to provide relief for those who are affected?

Similar issue like this also happened recently here in some states in my country. The most current one being in lagos state Nigeria. It's well honestly.

We are also observing flood situation in many states. Everytime this happens here and people lose their property because of it.

Yes a lot of people have lost their homes right now. I can only imagine what they are going through, and how lost or confused they are right now.

This is very sad that every year many people lose their life in such natural disasters and we don't have a solution to it. The government should take some measures so that the loss can be minimised when such things happen.

We have been experiencing some extreme weathers recently. Over here it has been raining for hours. It's almost like today would be a rainy day.

Most rivers in our country swell during the rainy season, causing floods in the cities nearby. There is always a loss of property and life during the rainy season, but there is no solution for it. We have to bear the loss every year.

If those floods had not been in existence before and is just surfacing now, it is caused by humans. They have built structures to block the water ways and there is no path for the waters to flow to. That's why a good government should have a masterplan and factor all these kinds of things into the masterplan.
