Is there a connection between the suffering from dementia and experiencing it (temporarily) as a kind of dream or dream state?

Research suggests that individuals with dementia may experience a unique connection between their condition and dream-like states. As dementia progresses, the boundaries between reality and dreams can become blurred, leading to vivid, dream-like experiences. This phenomenon is often referred to as "dream-like confusional states." In these states, individuals may relive memories or experience fantastical scenarios, which can be both comforting and distressing. Understanding this connection can provide valuable insights into the subjective experience of dementia and inform more empathetic care approaches.

With this knowledge can people with this issue be treated?

Dementia has to do with loss of memory. I've not actually experienced it before so I can't make a connection of it.
