Yes every name has a meaning at least in the Indian culture and it makes sense too because in a way many say that name represents the character of the person.

I strongly believe every name has a meaning, here in my culture we take meaning of names seriously, no one wants to use a name that means something bad.

Not so much in my culture but I never liked the meaning of my original name. My new name means 'chaste' which, as an asexual, suits me better.

Every name has meaning in my culture and there's no way you can give a meaningless name to somebody. Every name is unique and my name means mercy in my country.
