Is marriage an achievement?

In my country, those married people always act with a sense of accomplishments and achievement. Even my friends that just get married would now be feeling like they are a level above me.

Is marriage really an achievement for someone to be proud of? I don't think so. What of you?

LOL yeah even I feel its an achievement because I am not yet married and would like to get married soon but in a way its not an achievement and just another activity which is like must for everyone

In our society, people behave this way because it is extremely difficult to find a partner and get married. Also, the older generation always wants their children to get married as soon as possible in order not to marry themselves, so such people consider it an achievement. Many of my acquaintances got married and even stopped communicating with me because I myself believe that I am somehow wrong, but this is definitely a false opinion

I think it depends on each individual, but personally I believe marriage is an achievement. Trust me it's not easy finding the right person, coming together and getting married.

Marriage is especially an achievement for ladies. It is very difficult for a lady in my country to find someone that would tell him or her that they want to marry them. They would do anything to get married. And when they do, they use it to oppress the singles.

Yes, I feel it's an achievement because once you are able to take the responsibility of a family you marry and that's an achievement for a person. Also marriage brings companionship and joy in life which one might have always wanted to have and that's an achievement for me at least.

Right now I would even say it is more than an achievement because it's getting really hard to find a decent man or woman to get married to.

If you have high standards, then it would be difficult to find the right match for yourself. For example, if you want that a girl should be beautiful, educated, and have a job, then it will be difficult to find a girl with all these qualities; somewhere you have to compromise on certain things.
