Here in India we have such a culture of touching feet of our elders while greetings them. It is customary to touch an elder's feet as a sign of respect and appreciation. Touching the feet of elders, teachers, or other well-known individuals is a sign of courtesy, respect, and reverence. Hinduism views the feet as a sacred part that represents humility and submission. It is said that touching feet will bring good fortune, blessings, and spiritual guidance from the elder.
